ADMISSION RULES TO A FEE-PAYING BASIS FOR FOREIGN CITIZENS

1. ONLINE APPLICATION SUBMISSION
Fill out the online application and upload the required documents to Sirius.kaznmu.kz (admissions cometee module).
Payment for the application is not required.

2. DEADLINES:
All documents must be submitted before the deadline date. Late applications will not be accepted.

3.            THE LIST OF DOCUMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION IN COMPETITIVE SELECTION FOR UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION:
*              Passport copy. The validity of the national passport of the applicant must be at least 2 years from the date of entry into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
*              A copy of the certificate of secondary school/College completion with the academic Transcript;
*              Certificates of proficiency in English (TOEFL, IELTS or РТЕ Асademic);
*              Essay
*              Obligatory medical insurance;
*              Certificate of no criminal record;            
*              Medical certificate about mental health, absence of infectious diseases and contraindications to study at medical school
*              Current bank account statement.

Documents submitted in foreign language are to be translated into Kazakh or Russian, which translation authenticity is certified by Kazakhstani notary officer or consulate of RK in the country of issuance of documents of education. Documents of secondary (complete) general education issued in CIS countries do not require legalization (or apostille stamp).

All documents must be downloaded in PDF or JPG format. The files must be in Word format. The size should not exceed 5 MB.

4.           GPA REQUIREMENTS

The average rating of academic performance to graduates of secondary schools and colleges, GPA (Grand total) is not less than 75%. Marks/grades for chemistry and biology are not less than “B”

5.           LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS:

You need to download one of the following certificates of proficiency in English:
1.            IELTS:   5.5 and above (not less than 5.0 in each module)
2.            TOEFL: paper-based - 525 and above
                                        iBT - 46  and above
3.            PTE A: 42 and above
Be attentive! The certificate must not be expired.  IELTS - results are valid for two years only.


6.           WHAT IS ESSAY?
ESSAY – applicant’s essay should be at least 500 words, where he/she explains why he/she wants to become a doctor, why he/she wants to study at KazNMU International medical schoo, what are the expectations, etc.


7.           FINANCIAL VIABILITY

The amount of the current Bank account should be not less than the cost of tuition and accommodation, which is set in the contract between the applicant and the University.
In the 2017-2018 academic year tuition fee is 5600$ (five thousand six hundred dollars).

8.           IT IS IMPORTANT!
After submitting the application and uploading all documents, please send an email to ims@kaznmu.kz where you specify the name and the date of filing of application for International medical school.


9.           MINI-INTERVIEW
The applications of students
who meet to the University requirements are allowed to pass an online interview (mini interview).
Applicants who meet the requirements are allowed to competitive selection process.


10.       COMPETITIVE SELECTION
Admission of candidates on a paid basis at the International medical school is performed in accordance with competitive process.
Foreign citizens who are not recommended for admission, have the opportunity of entering the University through the Preparatory department on a paid basis.


11.      NOTIFICATION OF COMPETITION RESULTS. PREPAYMENT.

Applicants, who have passed the contest, must pay tuition fees in advance within a week after notification of the result, after which they will be sent an invitation.

Foreign citizens, expect for ethical Kazakhs, are required to make an advance payment equal to 20% of the tuition fee to the foreign currency account of S.D.Asfendiyarov KazNMU RSE on REM prior to receipt of invitation for education in order to confirm ability to meet payments. Upon making payment in money transfer a single payment is not to exceed 10,000 USD indicating full name in favor of which the transfer is made, “Payment for education” should be specified in the payment assignment.

12.      VISA PROCESSING(The Department for work with foreign students and students of the Preparatory department)

The Department for work with foreign students and students of the Preparatory department sends to the applicants invitation letters to foreign citizens for procurement of educational visas after receipt of advance payment to the University’s operating account.
Visas are procured by the Department for work with foreign students and students of the Preparatory department – at the expense of enrolled ones.
If there is no advance payment within the specified term, the applicant does not receive invitation letters and is not subject to enrollment to students.
The order of enrollment to the students is issued by the Rector of the University before August 28 of this year, in accordance with the Model rules of MES.
In the case of violation of payment terms, the Agreement may be terminated upon the University’s decision.


13.       SUBMITION THE DOCUMENTS IN HARD COPY (ORIGINAL) TO THE ADMISSION COMMISSION

The applicants shall submit the documents in hard copy (original) to the Admission Commission of the University before August 28, 2017  

The list of documents for enrollment:
*              nationally recognized document of secondary (complete) general education or of secondary professional education with transcript (original);
*              notarized copy of the nationally recognized document of secondary (complete) general education or of secondary professional education with transcript;
*              notarized copy of passport or ID card;
*              education payment receipt;
*              6 photos, size is 3x4 (colored or black-white, no more than 1 year of prescription);
*              medical certificate (086-U form), fluoro, vaccination card (063-U form)
*              reference of criminal record.

Foreign citizens pass medical commission in United University Clinic (UUC) of Asfendiyarov KazNMU.
Documents of education issued by foreign institutions pass the procedure of nostrification in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of RK after the enrollment of persons within the first semester of education.
All the transfers are to be made in the name and surname specified in entrance visa.
Should the foreign citizens submit the incorrect data, the University is entitled to return him/her documents and expel from the University without return of the placed funds.
The University submits the information in accordance to the established forms and terms to MES RK, and after enrollment – within ten-day term summary text report on organization and conduction of admission, as well as copies of orders of student enrollment.

14.      DORMITORY CHECK-IN
Cost of accommodation in the dormitory of the University is determined in accordance with the price list established in the University for the appropriate academic year.
If there are vacant rooms, the University provides with the rooms in the dormitory after making payment to the University’s operating account.
Only students of the 1st course/year of study are provided with a hostel.
