1) The Content of education is determined by
the competence model, which involves the formation of key competencies
(knowledge, practical skills, communication skills, legal issues,
self-development).
2) The
academic year consists of academic periods, periods of intermediate attestation,
holidays and practices. In
the graduating year, the academic year includes the period of final attestation.
3) In the period of summer vacations an
additional summer semester is organized for meeting the needs of students for an
additional training, elimination of academic debts or differences in the
curriculum in accordance with other universities’ academic disciplines and compulsory
credits taking into account at the University.
4) Conducting of midterm and final control of
students' knowledge, estimation of the admission rating and the final grade for
the discipline is carried out in accordance with the Rules for assessment of educational
students achievements at KazNMU for the 2016-2017 academic year.
5) Midterm examination in the discipline should
be held at the end of the section.
6) If the admission rating is less than 50
points the student will be not allowed to the final control. A student who was
not allowed to pass final control, and students who received the admission
rating, but at the final control (exam) got "unsatisfactory" mark,
they would be able to pass re-examination of the discipline in the next
academic period or summer additional semester. Students who do not get
admission rating 50 points after the additional academic period, will repeat
the year of study.
7) Retaking
a positive mark according to the final control with the aim of
its improving in the same period of interim attestation is not permitted.
8) For a positive assessment, in the
next academic period or during the summer semester for a fee attends
again all kinds of studies, provided by working curriculum of the
discipline, admittes and passes final
control.
9) The Dean in some cases (due to illness,
family and office circumstances) allows the student to take examinations on an
individual schedule. Taking examinations on an individual schedule is allowed after
submission of the Dean’s conclusion (in the case of illness) and other
supporting documents.
10) Exam for the discipline is carried out
according to the schedule in 2 stages:
The 1st stage – computer (written) test, which assesses the level of cognitive component (knowledge) and legal competence development.
Admission to the 2nd stage of the exam is 1st stage’s mark is 50 points or more.
In case of unsatisfactory mark, the student is sent for re-examination of the discipline on a paid basis in the next academic period or summer additional semester;
The 2nd stage – practical skills admission, which assesses the level of formation of operational and communicative competences. In the case of an unsatisfactory mark at 2nd stage the student is sent for re-study of the discipline on a paid basis in the next academic period or summer additional semester;
In the case of an unsatisfactory mark after the repeated study of discipline a student remains on a repeated year of study on a paid basis with the loss of the educational grant.

11) If a student
disagrees with an assessment outcome or process, he/she may commence the
assessment appeals. A student may commence the assessment appeals in case of
disagreement with his/her admission rating. The appeal Committee is approved
annually.
12) If
a student hasn’t gained the admission rating on several subjects because of
missing classes without valid reason, he/she is directed to re-study courses on
a fee basis in the period of the additional semester. If there are valid
reasons and supporting documents, the Dean's office directs this student to
study the missing topics for free according to the individual plan.
13) If a student who has
completed a program of discipline in full, did not show up for the exam in the examination list, opposite his name the note "did
not come" will be put. If there is
a valid reason the Dean's office set exam for the student's individual
schedule. In the absence of valid reason the student’s failure to appear for an
exam is equivalent to the assessment of "unsatisfactory" and set as
zero point. Re-take is allowed in the next academic period or during summer
additional semester, visiting all kinds of studies, provided a working
curriculum in the discipline.
14) The student, who has not reached a set transfer score and/or having debt in
the disciplines (prerequisites), remains on a repeated year of study on a paid
basis.
15) If a student was left to re-training, he/she would lose of the state educational grant for a further period of study.
